2011 - 2012

 

地震と津波による被害を受けた岩手県釜石市に点在する廃校のコンバージョン計画。被災地では復興活動の拠点（宿泊所や集会スペース）となる場所が不足しており、復興の弊害となっています。千葉研究室では具体的に2カ所の廃校舎について、仮設住宅に暮らす住民のためのリビング、県外からやってくる支援者のための宿泊施設としてコンバージョンし、復興期の活動拠点さらには復興後のコミュニティ活動の拠点として整備することを提案しました。既存ストックを用いた低予算・低ランニングコストの計画としてモデル化することで、被災地だけでなく、今後増加すると考えられる地方都市における建築ストック活用にも広く展開可能です。

 

This is a conversion project for abandon school in Kamaishi city, Iwate prefecture, damaged by the earthquake and tsunami in 3.11. In the afflicted area, the lack of recovery base( places for temporary stay, or spaces for meeting) have delayed the process of recovering schedule. Chiba lab proposed conversion plans for 2 abandoned school, combining temporary shelter for the local victims, lodging facilities for the rescue team and meeting space. The converted school may be use as community center after the revival. The modeling is designed in low budget, low running cost and using the existing stock, so this system can be widely use not only in afflicted area but also in other developing local areas as well.
