About Laboratory

Chiba Manabu Laboratory,

Department of Architecture,

Faculty of Engineering,

The University of Tokyo

Our laboratory aims to construct a new design theory that is derived from the relationship between the urban space and the natural environment rather than the logic that is completed within the building alone. Especially the order latent in the land from the viewpoint of the structure of the open space in the urban space and the landscape in the natural environment etc. is brought out and the relationship between the context and the construction of the place responding to the way people gather is confirmed through a more realistic project I am exploring.
